Wyvern Lingo (Caoimhe Barry, Karen Cowley and Saoirse Duane) will release their second album – ‘Awake You Lie’ – on the 26th of February, 2021.
The now Berlin-based trio from Bray have returned almost two years after their Choice Music Prize-nominated, self-titled debut album and continue to gift their fans with vocal gems.
After releasing their latest single 'Rapture', Wyvern Lingo have now shared an acoustic live version of the track, which touches on the theme of long-distance love.
Recorded in JRS studios in Berlin pre-COVID, with the final tweaks managed in lockdown Ireland; their sophomore project, Awake You Lie, comes almost two years after their debut.
'Rapture' is a song that writer Karen Cowley describes as "the sincerest love song I’ve ever written, inspired by overcoming long distance, and managing to remain completely overwhelmed by the mere existence of someone, even when apart.”
The forthcoming album's title - Awake You Lie - is taken from a line in the new song ‘Aurora’, the phones-aloft showstopper that closes side 1 of the record.
“This album is so much about us comforting each other. It’s about being in your late-twenties, when all the pieces are starting to settle into place and you worry whether or not you’ve made the right moves.”

'Rapture' received an immensely popular reaction from fans and critics alike when it was officially released at the end of 2020 alongside the music video. The acoustic, live version is just as poignant, and the outfit's vocals and harmonies are as effervescent as ever.
"NEW LIVE ACOUSTIC VERSION OF RAPTURE OUT TODAY!" the band tweeted.
"So happy with the response to our single 'Rapture' and we really hope you enjoy this stripped back version, singing around a lovely piano in a friends house in Berlin."
