The Bray band shared the news on social media earlier today.
The members of Wyvern Lingo have revealed that they'll be taking a break from the group following their upcoming run of gigs – and are set to work on "other projects."
The Bray band, who released their acclaimed second album, Awake You Lie, in 2021, shared the announcement on their social media platforms today, alongside a nostalgic selection of photos of the trio.
"Hey everyone, some juicy goss!" Wyvern Lingo wrote in the statement. "As we jump into festival season we thought it best to let you know that after this run of shows we’re gonna go ON A BREAKKK. Wyvern Lingo has been everything to the 3 of us for the last decade (and then some) and we’re are all really excited/ready to work on other projects for a minute..."
Before their break, the band – made up of Caoimhe Barry, Karen Cowley and Saoirse Duane – will play Carlow Arts Festival (June 10); Summer Songs by the Sea in Arklow, Co. Wicklow (11); Doolin Folk Festival in Co. Clare (12); and Sea Sessions in Co. Donegal (17).
They'll also play Franz Mehlhose in Erfurt, Germany (June 25); Privatclub in Berlin, Germany (28); Dachterrasse Hotel Illuster in Uster, Switzerland (July 1); and Bikers Base 8372 in Pfäffikon, Switzerland (2).
