At the premiere of his new movie Tarzan, director David Yates admitted that J.K. Rowling has already penned the sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
English filmmaker David Yates said in a recent interview that the sequel to the much anticipated Harry Potter spin-off series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, has already been written by J.K. Rowling.
Even though the first movie in the trilogy has yet to be released, Yates confirmed that Rowling has finished the second movie script and already has some ideas for the third.
In Rowling's beloved Potterverse, Fantastic Beasts is set in 1920s America, long before the famous Harry Potter was born. The new trilogy instead revolves around another figure, a vaguely familiar character mentioned briefly in the original seven book series, named Newt Scamander.
Newt Scamander, in Harry Potter's era, is known for writing the Hogwarts approved textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, but back in the 20s he was just starting out as a Magizoologist.
The movie takes place in New York City, shortly after Newt has concluded his worldwide exploration for magical creatures. He had been researching the animals for the aforementioned book.

While in New York, through a series of unfortunate events, several of Newt's magical creatures escape from his suitcase. The movie follows along as Newt frantically attempts to minimise the consequences of this disaster.
From Rowling's track record of continuous hits, it can safely be assumed that the newest series will not disappoint, but fans will have to wait until the movie's release date to be sure.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set to be released on November 18, 2016.
