British synthpop band Years & Years have announced the details of their second album, which follows their critically acclaimed debut 'Communion' in 2015.
Years & Years, comprised of frontman Olly Alexander,Mikey Goldsworthy and Emre Türkmen, have announced their new album 'Palo Santo' will be released on July 6.
Lead singer Alexander posted the announcement on his Instagram account, writing "Our second album - ✨PALO SANTO ✨ - comes out 6th July - I cannot wait for this to finally be out in the world y’all! It’s been a journey !!!!!Ups and downs and moons and Junes and Ferris wheels and fucking tearing my hair out and crying into my pillow and running down the road to just - get - around - the - next....- corner......I put all of it into Palo Santo, I put you and him and them and me into it. I’m emotional im aroused I’m upside down I’m just SO THANK FUL THAT THIS IS HAPPENING THERE IS A WITCHY GAY FULL MOON IN MY HEART AND ITS SHINING SHINING SHINING ?‘?"
The band also released a trailer for their short film, narrated by Oscar winner Dame Judi Dench. The plot of the short film reads, "Palo Santo has also become a city on a distant planet, on which human beings are a rare commodity, worshipped and idolized by an android society. Olly, along with the final humans, is recruited to perform in a series of bizarre erotic cabarets, for an artificial master known only as The Showman."

Years & Years were formed in London in 2010. After winning the prestigious BBC Sound 2015, their single 'King' was selected as Zane Lowe's Hottest Track in the World, after which followed massive commercial success. The same year, Years & Years' debut album 'Communion' debuted at number one in the UK, and the trio won four BRIT awards in 2015.
