Yo La Tengo will release their 16th studio album This Stupid World on February 10th.
New Jersey indie rock band Yo La Tengo have announced a headline tour which includes a fully seated show at Dublin's 3Olympia Theatre on the 10th of April, 2023.
The group are heading out on a EU/UK tour for their newly-announced 16th studio album This Stupid World, which will be released on the 10th of February 2023 via Matador Records.
Singer/guitarist Ira Kaplan and drummer Georgia Hubley of Yo La Tengo formed the band back in 1984 in Hoboken as a couple. They've since gotten married, and the band has been active for nearly four decades. They are joined by bassist James McNew.
The band made This Stupid World all on their own, contrasting their previous 15 albums which saw collaborations with outside producers and mixers. The album "grapples with how time keeps stream rolling and how we keep trying to do something about it," the band explains.
The first track released off the album is 'Fallout', and is described as "not so much timeless as time-defiant." Kaplan sings, "I want to fall out of time. Reach back, unwind."
