You And I
Irish monsters first heard this country-tinged Queen-sized mini-opera back in October, when Miss Gaga belted it out at a piano from the O2 stage. It was easily one of the highlights of the show and indeed of her bajillion-selling Born This Way album for one reason – there’s something remarkably gratifying about hearing Gaga sing a bonafide love song (as opposed to a bonafide lust song, or a bonafide blaspheming trunk song). Whether sweetly recalling her lipstick smudged on her lover’s face or triumphantly snarling “I’d rather die/Without you and I”, it’s a relatively normal Gaga moment, delivered with abnormal ferocity.
