You Can't Hurry Love
...aka one minute fifty five seconds of near pop perfection.
...aka one minute fifty five seconds of near pop perfection. The Concretes have been flagged as the Swedish answer to the Polyphonic Spree, yet aside from the fact that they only number eight (OK, plus twelve honorary members) the comparison is fairly wide of the mark. You Can’t Hurry Love isn’t a cover of that song but could almost come from the same 60’s girl group lineage, a buzzy little song that hits you in all the right places. Add a wall of offbeat instrumentation and the feeling that this is more like some sort of bizarre family than a band and you have quite possibly one of the exciting prospects for the rest of the year.
