The second headline artist to be announced for Wider Than Pictures 2023 is YUNGBLUD.
UK artist Yungblud will headline the Wider Than Pictures series on Wednesday 23 August 2023, with very special guests. Tickets on sale this Saturday, March 4th at 10am.
The show will take place live at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks, Dublin - under 16s must be accompanied by a guardian. Yesterday, it was announced that Swedish sibling duo First Aid Kit will also take part in the Dublin series.
Born in Yorkshire, Dominic Harrison (aka Yungblud) began writing his own songs at 10 years old, enticed by the thrill of catharsis and self-expression.
Since his self-titled debut EP in 2018, the 25-year-old’s lyrics have reckoned with sexuality, gender, class, gentrification, and mental illness with disarming honesty. Harrison has 7.9 million Spotify monthly listeners, five million followers on TikTok, and total YouTube views in nine figures.
Harrison’s first creative statement was his 2018 debut album 21st Century Liability, which cemented his status as a fearlessly unique artist who thrived on breaking cultural taboos. This was succeeded by his 2019 EP, hope for the underrated youth, which debuted in the Top 10 of the UK Official Albums Chart.

He was later shortlisted for the BBC Sound of 2020 poll and subsequently crowned the MTV Push: Ones to Watch winner. Harrison more than fulfilled this promise with his second record, weird!, which topped the UK album chart and is now certified gold.
In September 2022, Harrison released his hotly awaited third-studio self-album, which reached No. 1 in the UK album chart on the week of release, kickstarting his greatest era yet. Revisit our most recent interview with the star here.
Speaking to Hot Press last year, he couldn't contain his excitement at the thought of returning to Ireland.
“My ex-girlfriend was from Cork, so I was down there every three weeks or so,” he recalled to Lucy O'Toole. “Someone did an Irish slang test with me on the radio, and I got eight out of ten! I got most of it right – like, ‘The neck!’
“I can’t wait to come back to Ireland,” he adds. “I love it. It’s always a riot. We always go for a pint of Guinness in Temple Bar after our gig, but I don’t know what that’s going to be like this time – there might be too many people now!”
Tickets for Yungblud's Wider Than Pictures series go on sale Sat 4th March at 10am.
