As one of the greatest ever Irish singers passes on, we look back on some of her definitive interviews with Hot Press, and we speak to some contemporary singers who were inspired by her inimitable voice.
'Ode To Dolores' is Hot Press' extensive look back on the highs and lows of the career of the late Cranberries singer. Compiled by Hot Press' Stuart Clark - who knew Dolores from back when she'd just finished school (and who wrote the press release for The Cranberries' first ever cassette EP) - recalls her remarkable career in a five-page feature.
We also speak to some of Ireland's finest female singers, who saw Dolores O'Riordan as a beacon for future generations of singers. Vulpynes' Maeve Molly, Ham Sandwich's Niamh Farrell, Barq's Jess Kavanagh, Loah and Emma Langford all share their early experience of the singer.
Elsewhere in our first issue of the year, we unveil our Hot For 2018 artists. We speak to rise acts like Sigrid, Billie Eilish, Pale Waves and local band Inhaler (fronted by Bono's son Eli). We also profile our top 30 'Irish Ones To Watch' in 2018, as well as our 'International Ones to Watch'.
Not slowing down for a second, we meet with none other than Ireland rugby's newest shining light, Bundee Aki for an exclusive interview, where the young Irish Centre talks about his journey from Auckland to Aviva, big hits, beating England, and Pro 12 glory with Connacht. Mr. Aki is only a fraction of our extensive rugby special, which also sees us talk to Joy Neville - the first woman to referee an international game and a Challenge Cup match - and Keith Woods, who talks us through us our Six Nations chances.
Elsewhere, we preview the Dublin Racing Festival by talking to jockey David Mullins, who won the Grand National on his first time of asking.

In our film section, Roe McDermott speaks to acclaimed English director Saul Dibb about his stunning WWI movie Journey's End, and we also profile the films the best films hitting the big screen in 2018.
We also have all the usual previews, reviews and news that you'd expect from Hot Press, including coverage of the newest releases from The Academic, Eden, Glen Hansard, First Aid Kit and more.
