As a nation, Ireland shouldn’t have inherent racism, but it does. I feel more should be done in schools to teach children that being racist is wrong, and that there are strong repercussions if they are racist. Hate breeds hate.
I am very proud to see Irish artists with African roots such as Jafaris, Denise Chaila, MuRli and God Knows have such success. They represent all that is great about a mixed race society, bonding through art and music. All oppression is connected, be it online or in the street. It must not be tolerated.
