He's electric
The second coming of Our Kid has been nothing short of biblical, to borrow a line from the Manc himself. To scramble timelines somewhat, critics may have declared Liam Gallagher's career as dead as Twitter is now, when Oasis imploded and Beady Eye failed to set the world alight. But he steadily fought his way back, converting the naysayers with some incendiary live performances, and a fistful of arena-rattling solo songs. Fast forward to last year and Liam’s resurrection became complete, when he returned to the iconic English venue Knebworth, performing to 170,000 fans across two nights.
This live record captures those pleasingly raucous shows. It boasts a career-spanning set, including some of those still monstrous Oasis favourites. ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’ sounds molar-rattling; ‘Slide Away’ remains electrifying; while soul-spiced solo track ‘Wall Of Glass’ re-affirms that Gallagher still has star power by the boat-load.
Exhilarating from start to finish, the only thing missing is the sound of a few thousand spilled pints of Stella and a sea of sky-blue bucket-hats.
