Other-worldly electro-pop from Irish producer.
Electronic artist ZOiD, from Dun Laoghaire in Dublin, returns with his third album, Internal Space Element. It proves to be his most ambitious to date. With each track a collaboration, the record boasts a futuristic tint with strong elements of jazz and pop.
Featuring guest vocals from the adventurous Brighton-based Dublin ‘hyperjack pop’ musician Meljoann, ‘Portal’ expertly incorporates a string quartet into its soundscape on what is the album’s outstanding track. Meljoann again appears on the similarly sci-fi themed ‘Space Mission’, which unfolds into a highly compelling jazz workout.
The hugely talented Inni K, meanwhile, brings a traditional Irish element to ‘Timelapse’ and ‘Strong’, with her ethereal vocals the icing on a very well made musical cake.
Elsewhere, Suzanne Savage’s bluesy tone proves equally irresistible on ‘What Was The Question’.
Peppered throughout with imaginative beats and sound effects, Internal Space Element is an intriguing and highly satisfying listen. Well worth checking out...
