The late Russian opposition leader completed a memoir before his death, which will come out in October
Publisher Penguin Random House (PHR) has announced the release of Alexei Navalny’s autobiography. The Russian opposition politician died in prison in February, but was able to complete his book, Patriot, before his passing.
Navalny began writing his memoir shortly after being poisoned in 2020, finishing it within the next four years by dictating some parts. Yulia Navalny, his widow, has been working with editors to bring this book out to the world since his passing.
She says that Patriot is a way to honour her late husband’s memory and "inspire others to stand up for what is right and to never lose sight of the values that truly matter."
Alfred A. Knopf will publish Alexei Navalny’s memoir, PATRIOT, on October 22, 2024.

Nalavany’s death took place in February after three years in jail for charges that have been widely described as politically motivated. The Russian prison service explained his sudden passing by saying he had gone for a walk and lost consciousness, although one of his closest colleagues, Ivan Zhandanov, said he believed Nalvany had been murdered.
Zhandanov and Nalvany worked together in the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), which has exposed corruption throughout different levels of the Russian government, especially within President Vladimir Putin’s entourage.
Patriot, Alexei Nalvany’s final words to the world, is set to be published on October 22.
