"The train is leaving the station, be on it or be under it."
Scrutinized for his misogynist outlook, US president elect Donald Trump has been urged by the U2 singer to look at gender issues as a priority. Bono received Glamour magazine's first Man of the Year award on Monday night
During Bono's acceptance speech he mentions his daughter Jordan and how she told him, "There is nowhere on earth where women have the same opportunities as men." He further encourages action by calling attention to the man soon to be in power and the hate he represents, "Unless we address this problem, both men and women together, the world will continue down this misogynistic, violent and impoverished path."
Donald Trump's controversial sexist past stirs worry for Americans. A man who can say "Grab her by the pussy" to other men is far from the ideal role model for a nation that has made significant progress in gender and social issues over the past several years.

Hopefully, Trump will consider Bono's words from Monday night when he states, "I say to the president-elect: look across to women, make equality a priority, it is the only way forward."
