Dundalk Institute of Technology is introducing three new undergraduate music and audio degrees through the CAO – perfect for those looking to pursue a career in these ever-evolving industries.
The Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) has long been the home to exciting and innovative courses – and now it’s launching three brand new degrees for September 2024: BA (Hons) Music and Performance Technologies; BA (Hons) Sound Design and BA (Hons) Audio Computing.
Each of the degrees have an entry route at Level 7 and Level 8, and are ideal for students with a passion for music and sound production, who want an industry-recognised qualification on graduation. All of the new courses are delivered in the vibrant, collaborative hub of PJ Carroll’s, where students will become proficient at using state-of-the-art, industry-standard hardware and software to professional level. DkIT are industry partners with AVID (Pro Tools and Sibelius) and Blackmagic (DaVinci Resolve), and are licensed learning partners with Audiokinetic (Wwise).
All of the courses have been designed and will be delivered by industry professionals and experts in their fields, with small class sizes allowing for plenty of practical and hands-on experience. The programmes also include work placement opportunities, and have a strong emphasis on developing both technical skills and individual creativity.
Whether you’re looking to become a sound design specialist, a music producer or a sound recordist, building up the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies in sound design, music performance technologies, and audio computing is crucial – and you’ll find all of this and more at DkIT.
