In an amazing display of not understanding how this works - that's not how any of this works - President Trump has decided that global warming isn't real because it's cold outside.
The President of the United States tweeted (no good sentence starts with those words) "In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record. Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!"
Yes, the Leader of the Free World does not understand the difference between climate and weather.
The responses and rebuttals came quick and fast, including Zelda Williams' succinct tweet where she stated "Global ‘warming’ is a partial misnomer. It effects weather patterns in both temperature directions, intense cold included, as well as sea levels and currents, ecosystems and massive weather events like hurricanes."
Jon Foley pointed out the fallacy of Trump's logic, tweeting "Believe it or not, global climate change is very real even if it’s cold outside Trump Tower right now. Just like there is still hunger in the world, even if you just had a Big Mac."

It should be noted that Trump's Irish golf course just got permission to build seawall. The original application for the wall cited global warming and rising seas as a reason for needing the wall.
It seems Trump will alter his beliefs on a daily basis to appeal to his voting base or add to his bottom line, but science and logic remain absent from his thought process.
