Last month, O'Callaghan announced that he was set to leave the station in a statement on his Instagram account.
Donncha O'Callaghan has said he has "loved every minute" working on the 2FM Breakfast show and said the support from listeners "was never taken for granted" as he signed off from his final show on Friday morning.
The ex-rugby player, who has been presenting the show since May 2021, thanked listeners for their “constant support”.
"Thank you so much. I make mistakes but I got constant support from people," he said. "Last night I was coming through town and someone gave me a hug and said 'we're going to miss you man!'
"Honestly, it was never taken for granted on me. I wouldn't have been able to do it if it wasn't for your unbelievable support.
"Thank you so much. I loved every minute of it," he said.

Moments before the show ended, he quickly added: "Go raibh míle maith agat, slán!"
O’Callaghan announced last month that he would be stepping away from the station after five years of presenting, less than a month after the national broadcaster announced his inclusion in 2FM’s summer schedule.
His exit comes after the departure of his breakfast show co-host Doireann Garrihy, and The 2 Johnnies decision to leave the station in May.
"It is now time to focus on winning Ireland’s Fittest Family, to continue working on all my exciting rugby projects and something else that is a complete ‘Disaster’,” he said in an Instagram statement. "In the words of Farmer Hoggett "That’ll do pig, that’ll do…"
RTÉ 2FM posted a picture of O'Callaghan to Instagram and wrote: "Wishing you all the best Donners, our beautiful boy."

RTÉ are now looking for new 2fm presenters, following the series of high profile exits in recent weeks.
The national broadcaster has announced plans to create a “long list of presenters” who would appeal to listeners from ages 15-34.
“When a presenting role becomes available a shortlist will be created from the long list using a weighted criteria”, RTÉ said.
