The international pop star took to Instagram yesterday, asking her 88 million followers to "show solidarity" with Gaza.
Dua Lipa has become the latest celebrity to share their support for the hashtag '#AllEyesOnGaza', advocating for the end of Israeli military operations in southern Gaza.
The artist reposted a graphic from the group Artists4Ceasefire along with the #AllEyesOnGaza on Instagram. The hashtag has trended on social media in recent days following an Israeli airstrike that killed dozens of people in Rafah on Sunday.
“Burning children alive can never be justified. The whole world is mobilising to stop the Israeli genocide. Please show your solidarity with Gaza,” she wrote.
The singer has been an advocate for Palestinian rights for a number of years. She previously took to Instagram in 2020, condemning the Israeli Defence Forces and calling for the independence of Palestine.
She also signed an open letter to President Biden calling for a ceasefire in Gaza last year, along with celebrities Ayo Edebiri, Jessica Chastain, and Cate Blanchett.

The musician has been singled out for her support of Palestine in the past. In 2021, The World Values Network (A Jewish values organisation) posted an ad in the New York Times accusing her, as well as Palestinian supermodel siblings Bella and Gigi Hadid, of antisemitism. “Hamas calls for a second Holocaust. Condemn them now," it read.
“I utterly reject the false and appalling accusations," Lipa said in response. "This is the price you pay for defending Palestinian human rights against an Israeli government whose actions both Human Rights Watch and the Israeli human rights group B’Tselem accuse of persecution and discrimination. I take this stance because I believe that everyone – Jews, Muslims and Christians – have the right to live in peace as equal citizens of a state they choose.”
Singer Katy Perry has also urged for an immediate ceasefire following the recent bombings; the pop artist took to Instagram to repost a message from UNICEF, calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza as well as an “end to the senseless killing of children” to her 207 million followers.
"Many of the children cramped in Rafah have been displaced multiple times and have lost homes, parents and loved ones. Thousands are injured, malnourished, traumatized or living with disabilities," she wrote.
"They must be protected, along with the few remaining basic services and infrastructure they need to survive. For over seven months, we’ve witnessed this tragedy unfolding, resulting in thousands of children killed or injured."
