Sam Fender's set at Electric Picnic this afternoon proved that he's the new modern rockstar!
For those of you who have doubt: Sam Fender is not just another singer-songwriter. This boy is immensely talented and has a voice you could recognise between thousands.
He also has some serious guitar skills. During his surprisingly rocky set at the Electric Arena this afternoon, he pulled out all the stops, smashing guitar solos and head-banging moves. You might call him rockstar now.
What makes Sam Fender stand out between all the singer-songwriters and wannabe-rockstars out there are his remarkable songwriting skills. His songs have unique yet catchy melodies that don't sound generic at all, a very rare quality in times like these where basically everybody can release songs online.
'Hypersonic Missiles' is Sam Fender at his best. This song is an absolute banger and practically made for live shows, complete with singalong-worthy 'Oh oh oh's and an explosive interlude. Needless to say, the audience loved it.

His next hit song is already underway. During his set, Fender announced that his new song will be released tomorrow. Fans can look forward to a melancholic sounding track that later explodes into an energetic guitar solo, that the man plays himself of course. He also welcomed a new member to his band, a saxophone player who has a solo on Fender's new song.
Sam Fender is a man of few words, but when he talked to the audience, he seemed genuinely touched, grinning like a shy school boy at the admittedly big crowd in front of him. He deserves every bit of the success, as it's the reward for pure talent and a voice that sounds even better live than recorded.
His debut album Hypersonic Missiles will be released on September 13 and you all better be prepared for a fucking good piece of music.
