A Rare Opportunity To Kneel Before The Zods Of Rhythm!
There have been some legendary, mythical, and nigh-on unbelievable rhythm sections in the wide history of rock n' roll. Paul & Ringo, Wyman & Watts, Entwistle and Moon The Loon, Tina & Chris, Simonon & Headon, Adam & Laughing Larry, Bootsy & Jabo, even Animal & Floyd Pepper outta Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem. Heroes to a man - and a woman, but are they fit to lace the plimsolls of Graham Hopkins and Robbie Malone? Would said noodlers have even the cheek to look this immortal pairing directly in the eye, or would they - as well they should - shuffle and shrug, with heads bowed and hands in pockets, in the presence of their betters?
Luckily for the good people of Naas - and those willing to travel - there is now an opportunity to breath the same rarified air as these two musical colossi when Hopkins (Glen Hansard, Dolores O'Riordan, Therapy?) and Malone (David Gray, The Corrs, Hothouse Flowers) deign to appear at The Moat Theatre, Naas, Co. Kildare, on Thursday the 24th February for a very special "Drum & Bass Hang"....an evening of drums, bass, conversation and - as if that wasn't enough - great coffee! Ramón! Make haste and saddle my best horse!
Graham and Robbie - although you must never address them by their first names - will talk about their approach to music, their experiences playing live and in the studio, and the gear they use, while also treating the audience, and blessed are they amongst all peoples, to some wonderful jams during the evening.
Graham - remember that's Mr. Hopkins or, preferably, your eminence - calls these ‘drum & bass hangs’ rather than clinics or masterclasses, because he wants them to be as laid back and informal as possible, but not too informal. Don't forget to tug your forelock. They encourage everyone to get involved and enjoy musician camaraderie, and to exchange their experiences with one another. There will be no touching of any sort, however, and body parts will not be signed unless there is a pre-arranged fee.

The last time Graham 'Anthony' Hopkins hosted a Drum Hang in the locale it sold out - OF COURSE IT DID - so get in early to avoid crushing disappointment.
The ‘Hang’ begins at 7pm.
Tickets are €15 + booking fee, and can be purchased from The Moat Box Office.
