There are limited places remaining for this year's MIX course, kicking off next week!
The renowned Music Industry Xplained (MIX) course returns this February, to demystify the wonderful world of the music industry.
Kicking off on February 5, and running every Wednesday for 13 weeks at the Sound Training College in Temple Bar, Dublin, MIX will feature some of the top professionals in the music industry, lecturing across a multitude of essential areas.
Joining us this year is Greg Fry – an international social media trainer who delivers regular social media, social customer service and social business strategy training and workshops. With extensive experience working with top multinationals, Greg's sessions are packed with passion – and you won't find a more engaging speaker in the social media space.
In a special promo video, available now on Hot Press's social media platforms, Greg gave us some exciting insights into the importance of social media in today's music industry.
"We’re going to be talking about what content will help you fly and get seen in a busy digital market and world," he explains in the video. "What bands are excelling when it comes to the use of social media? What tools can you use so you can get seen and connect at a deeper level with your fanbase? At the end of the day, social media is ‘word of mouth’ on steroids!"

“2020 will see the continuous rise of video content when it comes to social media," he continues, "So as artists, we need to be creating more and more video content, to showcase our music. The consumption of Instagram stories, Facebook stories and Snapchat stories continues to rise – and will continue to do so in 2020. So, we need to become good storytellers as well as good artists."
Greg concludes that every band should have a social media strategy.
"In the MIX course we’ll show you how to build a social media strategy that will allow you to plan and to execute social media in a way that you can connect on a regular basis with your fanbase, and generate return from your social media efforts," he says. "At the end of the day, there’s more busy fools in the social media world than there are productive ones. We’ll show you how to be a productive one!"
MIX, now in its 20th year, offers invaluable, first-hand knowledge from industry experts who know all the workings of today’s music business – including publishing, promotion, record labels, artist management, production, radio/media, accounts, brand identity, accounts and much more.
