U.S. President-elect Donald Trump met the rapper yesterday at Manhattan's Trump Tower and sparked rumors about the encounter.
The 15-minutes meeting between rapper Kanye West and Republican President-elect Donald Trump yesterday at Manhattan's Trump Tower sparked rumors about a possible performance at Trump's inauguration or an informal administration role for the rapper.
Asked about the purpose of the meeting, Trump told reporters afterward: "Friends, just friends. He's a good man. Long time. Friends for a long time." Trump added that the two had "discussed life."
But West posted on his Twitter account that they discussed what he called 'multicultural issues' such as bullying, education and violence.
I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues.

"These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago. I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change."
The singer also teased a potential run for president adding a last tweet that said simply #2024. Last year, West declared he was planning to run in 2020, but has given no details.

This was Kanye West's first major appearance after he was released from the hospital on November 30 following a psychiatric emergency for an unexplained reason.
