Following the release of his Booker Prize longlisted novel Night Boat To Tangier last night, Kevin Barry returns with his third short story collection, That Old Country Music – set be published on October 22.

The new collection follows "a ragbag of West of Ireland characters, many on the cusp between love and catastrophe, heartbreak and epiphany, resignation and hope."

"These stories show an Ireland in a condition of great flux but also as a place where older rhythms, and an older magic, somehow persist," the book description continues.

That Old Country Music follows Barry's previous short story collections There Are Little Kingdoms and Dark Lies the Island.
