"It’s a viral infection, you’ve become a space cadet," they proclaim on their new indie electro banger
Dublin indie heroes The Crayon Set have written a song specially for the 45th President of the United States.
"Great country - shit president, horrible man," they reflect. "In hindsight we actually took it easy on him..."
Out officially on April 10, it can be pre-ordered from their Bandcamp.
The tune turns out to be as admirable as the sentiment. Here's how the lyrical masterpiece unfolds:
You’re out of your fucking mind, you’re out of your mind
Get to a doctor, ask her for some help
Tell her your problems, tell her that you’re sick
I think you’ll find, You’re out of your fucking mind
I know you think you’re normal, but we need some further tests
It’s a viral infection, you’ve become a space cadet
Take a deep look inside, you’re out of your fucking mind
You’re in the wrong century, Nazis marching on the streets,
The American dream, has come apart at the seams
I hope we’ll survive, cause you’re...
I can see, I can see how this plays out, I don’t think, I don’t think we will lay down, This time I don’t see any way out for you

At first you were ridiculous, but now I think you're dangerous
Your fingers on the button, there's children in cages
I don’t dig your style, you’r...
Got to plan for the future, no more ignorance is strength
You’re making me anxious, build a wall around yourself
No, the dude don’t abide, you’re...
It’s gone from a void to the paranoid, it’s gone from tweets to the streets
Confusing what’s real and what’s fantasy, we’re watching history repeat
You’re out of your fucking mind, you’re out of your mind
