Six years since they last played Ireland, Brooklyn legends LCD Soundsystem make a rip-roaring return to Dublin, kicking off their European tour.
There are certain bands that need to be witnessed live and LCD Soundsystem are at the top of that list. Having disbanded at the height of their career in 2011, many people here tonight, including myself, thought they'd never get to see them perform.
With special guests including IDLES, Young Fathers and Shit Robot on the bill, the crowd is well and truly warmed up as LCD Soundsystem take to the stage.
Kicking off proceedings with 'Us vs Them' from their second studio album Sound of Silver, the 13-track set is packed with fan favourites including 'Dance Yrself Clean' and 'New York, I Love You but You're Bringing Me Down'.

At 54, their one-off frontman James Murphy is in top form, dressed in a white hoody and black coat, while keyboardist and vocalist Nancy Whang stands regally at her keyboard wearing magnificent neon eye makeup and a matching orange top.
Over two decades on from their formation, LCD Soundsystem's live show is still something to behold. With their signature disco ball hanging at the top of the stage and James Murphy giving it his all, gripping his mic in a tender caress, fans of all ages are absolutely elated to be part of it all.
Murphy's age has always influenced his songwriting and it makes his lyrics all the more hard-hitting and profound as fans grow with the songs.
Lines like: "You spent the first five years trying to get with the plan /And the next five years trying to be with your friends again /You're talking 45 turns just as fast as you can/Yeah, I know it gets tired, but it's better when we pretend" and: "I wouldn't trade one stupid decision/For another five years of life", are shouted back emphatically at Murphy by his Irish fans.

Their debut single 'Losing My Edge' get a massive reaction, along with a spellbinding performance of 'All My Friends'. Groups of friends can be seen arm in arm relishing every beat of a song that has been listed among the finest songs of the '00s.
They blare 'Nothing Compares 2 U' after leaving the stage as the crowd stays to sing it with gusto. A nice touch by the band and a lovely moment for Irish fans to remember and celebrate Sinead O'Connor.
Thank you to James Murphy, Nancy Whang, Pat Mahoney, Al Doyle, Tyler Pope, Korey Richey, Nick Millhiser and Abby Echiverri for an incredible night of music at Malahide Castle. Come back soon!
