With bodies as far as the eye could see, there's no doubt Marlay Park was hooked on MK's spectacular set.
As the weather took a short turn in Marlay Park, a crowd built up at the main stage, ready to fist bump and jump to some of MK's finest beats.
Marc Kinchen, best known by his initials MK, is an American DJ, who has been working in the industry since the early '90s. He's best known for his remixes of tracks like 'My Head Is A Jungle', 'Push The Feeling On', and 'Freak 'n' You'.
2023 has seen the DJ release a huge amount of tracks - far more than the last two years combined - so, it makes sense why the young crowd was crazily enthused as the opening light show for his set began.
And what a fantastic visual introduction it was! Fans went wild for the strobe lights, pyrotechnics and visual trickery taking place on the stage and screens, while MK steadily built up a solid beat, right off the bat. The audience reception to his opening track was phenomenal, with glitter-covered bodies running to the main stage as the lights went wild for the opening beat drop.

The sun slipped back through the clouds just in time for a remix of Michael Gray's track 'The Weekend', which received an excellent reception from the crowd. Heavy bass was prevalent throughout the set along with heavy visuals usage, enticing the crowd to stay on and listen to more of the DJ's incredible breakdowns.
The musician turned his attention to Irish talent, popping on a remix of a Jazzy track. "Everyone loves Jazzy," one of the Hot Press team pointed out - and you can certainly tell why.
MK's track '17' was up next, to loud screams from a captivated crowd.
Notably, even as remixes, none of these tracks were played through fully - the DJ instead chose to break up vocals with intense build ups and epic breakdowns, in signature MK style.
As his set wrapped up, it became more and more obvious how MK has been in the business for well over 30 years - his talent is unmatched and he picks the exact right tracks to cover according to the crowd. Hopefully we'll see much more of this American icon on Irish shores!
