Acclaimed Limerick collective Narolane put on a spine-tingling performance on the new 3 All For Music stage.
One of Ireland's most exciting collectives, Narolane, hit the 3 All For Music stage on Saturday at Electric Picnic. Fronted by Limerick rappers God Knows, Denise Chaila and MuRli, they also invited a host of special guests, which made for a rip-roaring set.
Opening with 'Water', the packed tent immediately went berserk, with Narolane's infectious enthusiasm and stage-craft continuing to delight the crowd throughout an action-packed performance. Their unique chemistry was again evident on 'No Weapon', DJ CeeCee and Chaila dancing behind the decks as the tag-team of God Knows and MuRli took over vocal duties.
Sorcha Richardson was the first guest to make an appearance for joint single 'Out The Gaff', while Senita arrived for for 'Glory' – a powerful single that makes fine use of her soulful vocals. Dublin hip-hop maestro Jafaris then emerged for a triumphant 'Rocks'.
The group expressed their excitement and gratitude, Denise noting that they felt "blessed to show you what we are. Welcome to our manifesto of why we love everyone on stage."
"In reality," added MuRli, "we are just kids who were inspired by art."
There's no doubt that with barnstorming performances like this, Narolane are providing plentiful inspiration to a new generation of performers – and with a new EP on the way (they also dropped their new single in the EP set), their momentum shows no sings of slowing.
