Revisit PrYmary Colours' Friday night performance on the Y&E Series tonight – supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media...
Featuring Cayisha on vocals and Daz on production, PrYmary Colours have brought a bold new energy to the Irish dance music scene. This duo have already made their mark at the House Of Yes club in New York, the Olympia Theatre in Dublin and a wide selection of festival stages.
Standing atop of a boat on Dublin's canal near Portobello, Daz and Cayisha were in high spirits. Dressed in silver jumpsuits and featuring a disco ball head on a dancer, the trio brought funk, soul and pop energy for 30 minutes straight.
Having previously received support from DJs like Laurent Garnier and Erick Morillo and played alongside Kelis, Greg Wilson and Krystal Klear, the enigmatic duo are more than capable of entertaining a livestream crowd.
With a consistent disco dance beat supporting Cayisha, the singer brought powerhouse vocals to her set. Laden with sparkling synths, roaring trumpets and pumped up house sounds, PrYmary Colours made sure to perform their October 2021 single 'The Movement'. The energetic electronic song fuses many genres, acting as a rallying cry against racial injustice.
Daz, one half of PrYmary Colours (and Dónal Lunny's nephew), incorporates polka airs into this modern disco-feeling track, that blends traditional with modern, past with present, whilst reminding us all of the journey Ireland is on, both musically and philosophically.

'Death of the Radio' and 'Frequently' were also on the menu, with the canal-side crowd lapping up every chunky disco pop track on offer. Check out their fun-filled performance in full below, complete with bubbles!
