The Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghail said a Dáil debate on the recognition of Palestine will also take place.
The Palestinian Flag is due to be flown over Leinster House next Tuesday March 28.
The decision to fly the flag was confirmed by the Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghail following a question from Independent TD Thomas Pringle in the Dáil this afternoon.
An Taoiseach Simon Harris told the Dáil that the flag will fly on the same day the recognition of the State of Palestine will formally take effect on 28 May.
Ireland will recognise Palestine along with Norway and Spain next Tuesday.
The news comes today after the three countries said that they would recognise the state in tandem.

Today's news also led to Israel recalling their ambassadors from Ireland and Norway "for consultations".
Mr Harris described the move as a “historic and important day” for Ireland and for Palestine.

"I want to know in years to come, that Ireland spoke up, spoke out in favour of peace, in favour of a political settlement that allows children in Palestine, children in Israel, to live safely and in peace and security side-by-side," Mr Harris said.
The Taoiseach added that he is proud of the political consensus around the move, stating that while politicians often disagree, he is glad there is a unified voice on this issue.

Israel recalls ambassadors from Ireland and Norway after recognition of Palestine state. People Before Profit have been requesting that the flag be flown over Leinster House for a number of months now.

TD Bríd Smith last week on Nakba day, unfurled the Palestinian flag on the grounds of Leinster House, despite refusals from Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl to fly the flag.
