Groups who have already endorsed the pro-Palestine petition include Artists Against Genocide, Derry IPSC, the Derry Anti-War Coalition and more.
A petition calling for all politicians and political parties to boycott the White House’s St Patrick’s Day event, in relations to the US governement’s involvement in the genocide in Gaza, has received over 2,000 signatures.
The petition is endorsed by 22 Irish political groups, including Artists Against Genocide, Derry IPSC, the Derry Anti-War Coalition, Teachers for Palestine, Louth ISPC and many more.
Last year’s petition of the same name had received over 20,000 signatures, resulting in “several prominent politicians not going, as well as protests in Ireland and the US against the betrayal,” according to a press release.
In recent figures published by The Lancets, the number of people killed in the genocide in Gaza is of approximately 68,000, with over 100,000 maimed and injured.
“Every step of this genocide has been funded and supported by the United States,” the petition’s press release states. “Our governments have paid lip service rather than take any meaningful action against Israel.”

They did clarify that “through constant lobbying and pressure,” Ireland officially joined in the case taken by South Africa accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza last month.
