Nelson sang the song at a free concert for the candidate ahead of Novembers midterm elections.
Country star Willie Nelson played a politically charged song entitled 'Get Em Out', encouraging listeners to Vote out any Senators they are unhappy with, at a free concert in support of Democratic candidate Beto O'Rourke, who is challenging for Republican Ted Cruz's senate seat in the upcoming midterm elections.
Nelson, who has upset conservative fans for his support of O'Rourke, stated on The View recently that he was surprised at the backlash due to the fact he has never hid his left leaning political opinions.
The song was a rally cry for people to go out and vote in order to get rid of Senators, or any political representatives, that they are not happy with, including the lines:
“If you don’t like who’s in there, vote ’em out / that’s what Election Day is all about / and the biggest gun we got / is called the ballot box / if you don’t like who’s in there / vote ’em out.”

The singers performance and endorsement of the Democratic candidate comes as the Democrats are preparing for the upcoming midterm elections which could see them take control of the US senate, with the Cruz/O'Rourke battle being one example of the Democrats aim of potentially breaking Republican control of the house as O'Rourke chips away at Cruz's lead in what is normally a safe Republican seat.
