A Kells Christmas Carol mini-festival event in the Co. Meath town. The film – Episode 1 in a series of three All Rise sessions which will be premiered by Hot Press – includes memorable performances by ace uilleann piper Paddy Keenan, who originally came to prominence with The Bothy Band; singer-songwriter Robert John Ardiff; and Navan guitar wizard, Jimmy Smyth with Karrie O'Sullivan, among others. It will be launched at 8pm.
Tonight's mini-festival in Kells will feature musical performances from Paddy Keenan, Paddy Smith Band with Jeanne McGovern, Matthew Gilsenan & Deirdre Shannon and Robert J Ardiff, plus pop-up theatrical experiences by Meath’s very own Circus Gerbola, Deirdre Kinahan and Fred Cooke. The event promises to be an evening brimming with "marvellous lights, garlands galore, spectacular sounds, tasty treats, wondrous entertainment and joyous memories."
"The show will begin at 8pm, with a pre show welcome by Kells Silver Band at 7:30pm and some delicious treats to warm you as you wait,” the organisers promise. "Come hither, gather your friends and family, and join us on a special December night to celebrate the community we find in music and live gatherings!"
