"I’m very proud to be in a place where I can present my creative vision exactly as I want it," said the 17-year-old about her first directing role.
It's been one hell of a year for Billie Eilish. The 17-year-old released her debut album, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, which earned her 6 Grammy nominations and, as of October, was the most streamed album in Ireland this year. Between dominating the charts – and frankly, the entire industry – and headlining festivals across the world, including Electric Picnic, Eilish now expands her list of 2019 accomplishments with her directorial debut for the 'xanny' music video.
“I’m very excited to share my directorial debut," she said. "Visuals are so important to me, and I’m very proud to be in a place where I can present my creative vision exactly as I want it. Thank you to everyone who has put their trust in me.”
The video follows the artist singing, pained on the bench as numerous anonymous hands put out their cigarettes on her face.
Eilish recently won Favorite New Artist and Favorite Alternative Rock Artist at the American Music Awards. She was also appointed as Apple Music’s Global Artist Of The Year.
