Cry Before Dawn makes euphoric homecoming at Wexford Spiegeltent Festival! The Wexford Spiegeltent Festival kicked off amidst a spectacular fireworks display with renowned band Cry Before Dawn opening the 2024 Festival on Friday night. Growing up just yards away from the quayside of the river Slaney Brendan Wade, Tony Hall and Vince Doyle were on home ground for a special homecoming show. The late 80s music scene in the sunny southeast will always be fondly remembered for the release of 'Crimes of Conscience' and 'Witness for the World' albums by the then up-and-coming four-piece rock band. Further success didn't materialise but those two initial records have reached cult status with songs like "The Seed That's Been Sown", "Girl in the Ghetto", "Witness for the World", and "No Living Without You" among fans' favorites. Taking place within the picturesque setting of the Spiegeltent fans flocked to see their heroes and relive memories of their youth. Coming on stage Brendan Wade shouted, "Hello Wexford, This is the best place in the World and it's great to be home." Together with Brendan Carthy on drums who is filling in for Pat Hayes and Terry Byrne on keyboard and accordion, it was a night where time reverted to the 1980's with songs and stories behind the music with the audience transfixed on the stage from start to finish.
