Debut Pop Song From Up-and-coming Irish Star Alice Kiernan

Twenty-two-year-old Irish musician Alice Kiernan releases her catchy debut single, entitled  Running Now, today.

"The song takes inspiration from various female artists such as Lorde, Florence and The Machine, and Ellie Goulding," Alice Kiernan tells Hot Press.

Running Now was co-produced my Martin Quinn in JAM Studios. Martin has also produced music for rising Irish pop star Aine Cahill.

"I am proud of this song for many reasons but mainly because I did it all myself," Alice wrote ion her Facebook page this morning.

"The song writing, organising studio time, organising photography and graphics, press release and contacting, branding, marketing, social media, getting it onto the music platforms and so much more.

"It was stressful and lonely at times but I'm so happy I did it. I'm so excited for it to not be a lonely process anymore. I hope you like it, and I hope I did you proud."

At the age of 16, Alice began her music career by gigging and performing in venues around Dublin and Ireland - supporting some of Ireland' s biggest acts including Ham SandwicH and Paddy Casey in venues such as Whelans, The Academy, and Cyprus Avenue.

Through gigging and posting covers and her own originals online, she soon gained a small following and the 22-year-old is now set to release her debut single, Running Now.

Taking a step back from her acoustic guitar, Running Now takes inspiration from various female pop artists such as Lorde, Florence, and Ellie Goulding. "The song focuses on the moment we are faced with the situation that scares us most. We fight or we flight. We stay or we run," she says.

It's certainly a catchy track that stands out thanks to Alice's strong, heartfelt vocals and a slick production. She's definitely one to keep an eye on.

Taking to Twitter to announce the singe's release, Alice tweeted: "Hello, some exciting news. My debut single Running Now will be released on Friday October 12. It's new, it's exciting... and it's pink. I hope you love her as much as I do."
