What gives the decade away, of course, are the barnets and the clothes. There's something about hairstyles and trouser width/hem length which immediately carbon dates music. Also very apparent is the evolution of the role of producer with David Holmes, Jacknife Lee, Scully from Métisse and Autamata's Ken McHugh so much more than the blokes pushing the faders.
