Ten Speed Racer, Royseven, Jacknife Lee, Autamata, La Rocca & Jodavino have all made the latest cut but what about your favourites?
Okay, let's be honest, we're poxed lucky to be able to spend all day trawling through music videos and call it 'work'. It's noticeable as we hit the Noughties that the grainy old VHS/Betamax converted promos give way to crystal clear digital jobbies that could have been shot yesterday. What gives the decade away, of course, are the barnets and the clothes. There's something about hairstyles and trouser width/hem length which immediately carbon dates music. Also very apparent is the evolution of the role of producer with David Holmes, Jacknife Lee, Scully from Métisse and Autamata's Ken McHugh so much more than the blokes pushing the faders. What's exactly the same as the '80s and '90s, though, is 1). The quality and diversity of the music made and 2). How peed off people get when their personal favourites don't make the cut, So, here's our Fifteen Noughties Irish Bands That Should Have Been Massive Vol. 2 with another coming fast down the tracks. Make sure to loudly let us know who you want to be included on the Hot Press socials and @stuartclark66. Don't worry, he can take the heat...
