Flashback to Electric Picnic with The Coronas
It was a special weekend in Stradbally, but especially for the Dublin quartet. And, as per usual, Hot Press was in the thick of the action as the band made the Friday night their own
Standing out from the festival crowd is hard enough at the best of times - how else to explain novelty hats and animal onesies - but one band made sure that at Electric Picnic, they were noticed for all the right reasons.
The Coronas appeared on Friday night for their first ever Stradbally performance, but in truth it looked like they'd been born right there on the main stage. "They're genuinely up there now with the Coldplays and Elbows of this world in terms of working an arena crowd," opined our man Stuart Clark, following the performance.
HP snapper Kathrin Baumbach pulled out her best MI6 moves, stealthily popping up everywhere from the back of the stage to pretty much crowdsurfing with Danny - you can see her gallery
here - while later on, the aforementioned Mr Clark cornered a buzzing Danny and Knoxy to get their reaction on a wonderful evening, and the celebrations that would continue long into the night!
