Bitten By Flea! is a candid documentary detailing the creative process of Iggy Pop’s album Every Loser.
Iggy Pop has unveiled an inside look at his life alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, as Bitten By Flea! shines a light on their high-energy experiences in the studio together.
The honest conversation between the two artists is led by Flea as they discuss the origins of the Michigan artist's career and his discovery process with Iggy's latest album Every Loser.
“Got a new album. Yeah, it’s cool man. I listened to it a couple times through, fucking rocking. I wouldn’t expect any less,” stated Flea.
The creative experience started with the relationship between Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt and Pop. Punk icon Iggy first got an email about the producer and that’s how the partnership began.
“It’s with this extraordinary producer and I got the track and the track was fucking slamming. I didn’t expect that,” shared Pop.

The documentary also highlights how the “musician” producer Watt idolises Pop and how the two of them got down to business right away. Pop said, “Within five minutes, he’s asking me very personal questions about my entire career."
“Maybe a little quickly we started talking. I just started asking questions and he started answering them,” shared Watt. Pop offered to make some more music and the partnership was born.
Pop goes through some of the tracks off of his new album Every Loser and the experiences working on the various songs, such as ‘Frenzy’ and ‘Modern Day Ripoff.’ When working on ‘Frenzy,’ Pop was reunited with Duff McKagan from Guns N’ Roses.
The 26-minute documentary, directed by Thom Zimny, highlighted various elements of Pop’s life. Pop refers to musicians as his “preferred kinds of people and I like to be around music.”
Flea will continue this form of conversation with his podcast The Little Light, which features music influences and memories from performing. The first episode will be released on March 30th.
“Most of the songs on [Every Loser] were the first take. To me, it’s a performance. It’s just like going to a gig,” shared Pop.
