Just Mustard headlined the opening night at Coughlans Music Festival, Cork City. The Dundalk quintet with Katie Ball on lead vocals brought their heady blend of noise rock, shoegaze post-punk, and electronic-influenced music to the famous venue on Douglas Street. Formed in 2015 the band played a set based on tracks from their debut album 'Wednesday' and 2022 release 'Heart Under' plus a glimpse of some material
Support on the night was from imBau who also hail from Co.Louth. The shoegaze/noise-rock band comprising of Ranier Gaspar (vocals and bass), Cormac Mac an Ghirr (guitar), Eóin Byrne (guitar), and Skye Chan (drums), formed over a year ago. They had previously bonded over a mutual love for music, meeting at Dundalk Youth Centre.

The Music Festival continues at Coughlan's over the weekend with Wallis Bird doing a two-night stint over Friday and Saturday with support from Lorraine Nash (Friday) and Iona on Saturday. Saturday also sees Kinsale band Cardinals who are fresh from their headline performance at the Upstart Festival a few weeks ago. Then David Keenan with special guest Clodagh Quirke on Sunday.
