Kodaline light up Grey Skies in Cork City.
Light, lasers and a marriage proposal were all part of the show in Musgrave Park on Friday night as Kodaline lit up the grey skies over Cork City. There have been some big names attending the rugby venue in recent weeks and the Dublin Indie band continued that trend as they brought their Roots Run Deep Tour to Leeside.
Typical Irish summer weather of rain and overcast conditions greeted the young concertgoers but with end-of-year exams drawing to a close, they were in a celebrity mood.
The four-piece band of lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Steve Garrigan; bassist and vocalist Jason Boland; guitarist and vocalist Mark Prendergast, and drummer and vocalist Vinny May put on a two-hour spectacular performance including songs ‘High Hopes’, ‘Waiting on a Brand New Day’ and ‘Brother’. On a romantic note, the night was very special for one couple as during the song ‘Hold On’ the huge screens positioned on each side of the stage lit up with a marriage proposal in the audience. There was also a poignant tribute from Garrigan to the recently deceased Christy Dignam.

Support on the night came from Westmeath singer Amy Michelle and English singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan.
