Their take on 'Cellophane' is included on the new Live From The BBC Maida Vale EP
The rock 'n' roll gods are really smiling on us! First Fontaines D.C. release the storming title-track from their A Hero's Death album and now their Dublin brothers The Murder Capital debut this stunning cover of FKA twigs' 'Cellophane'. The accompanying video is an excerpt from Alex Grigg’s animated short film Born In A Void.
It's part of their Live From The BBC Maida Vale EP, out today and which also includes new versions of fan favourites 'Don't Cling To Life' and 'Green & Blue' that were specially recorded for Annie Mac,
"When Annie asked us to do a live session at Maida Vale, covering FKA Twigs was an easy decision," the band reflect. 'Cellophane' especially encapsulates such a poignant landmark of heartbreak, and its innately exposed nature further allowed us to really connect with it.
"The process itself was exciting for us, as we came to reshape its original mould, and impart our own sound and emotion onto the sentiment of inadequacy that she embodies so selflessly on the track. A truly unique artist who we appreciate greatly. Take it easy out there and look after yourselves."
The band are currently hunkered down writing songs for their second album. We can't wait!
Our ‘Live from BBC Maida Vale’ EP is out at midnight wherever you are.
