Peter Hook, one of rock’s iconic figures brought the legacy of 70’s band Joy Division and 80’s band New Order to Cork's Cyprus Avenue last night. The founding member of both bands performed both Joy Division albums ‘Unknown Pleasures’ and ‘Closer’ in full plus singles and B sides along with an opening set of New Order material. The gig opened with what would usually be an encore with ‘Blue Monday’, ‘Bizarre Love Triangle’, ‘Regret’, ‘Crystal’, ‘True Faith’, and ‘Temptation’. After a brief break Hook was back on stage and by this time a packed Cyprus Avenue was calling the renowned rocker “Hooky”. The base guitarist continued with renditions of ‘Unknown Pleasures’ and ‘Closer’ in full and an unforgettable night ended with ‘Atmosphere’, ‘Ceremony’, ‘Transmission’, and ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart'.
