Fresh on the heels of their Hot for 2020 Irish Acts title, Derry pop-punk trio Cherym premiere their music video for their biggest track yet, 'Abigail'.
Last year saw the monumental rise of one of the North's most promising pop punk bands, Cherym. The three-piece from Derry received the 2019 NI Music Prize for 'Best Newcomer' and released their most successful track to date, 'Abigail'. The track is a driving head-banger with sassy vocals and hints of garage rock and pop-punk woven throughout. Rest assured, they raised eyebrows in the Hot Press offices and have been named one of our Hot for 2020 Irish acts.
Now, Cherym are sharing the accompanying visuals for 'Abigail', which follow the band as they navigate a chaotic house party.
The track is a promising evolution of sound for the three-piece and the visuals come ahead of their highly-anticipated sophomore EP which is due for release in April.
Their self-released debut EP, Mouthbreatherz racked up over 20,000 organic streams and garnered them fans across the island. The momentum carried them to slots at a number of prominent festivals including Electric Picnic, Indiependence, and Standhal, and support roles for notable bands such as local legends And So I Watch You From Afar and Fangclub. Cherym were nominated for Best Single with their debut track, 'Take It Back' at the 2018 NI Music Awards.
