Raising his beer, toasting to his loyal fans Sting offered his apology, "I haven't been in Cork for 10 years, I apologise for my absence. It's great to be back Slàinte." Pearse Road, Ballyphehane was turned into Memory Lane and the main entrance to Virgin Media Park was transformed into a 'Time Warp'. Special guest Blondie opened an imaginary path through which the nostalgically remembered past began to flow and Musgrave Park was then turned into a Field of Gold as the legendary singer Sting entered the stage. Together with Dominic Miller on guitar and Chris Maas on drums, the trio took the transfixed audience on a ride of nostalgic melodic memories spanning 50 years. By the end of the night, the Police had to be deployed to empty the arena.
