Wexford-natives Ballyboyz are back with an ode to their favourite 'KICKS'.
The Ballyboyz are made up of Dee the Antisocial and Spaceman Steve, two brothers who have been rapping and producing together for the last eight years.
'KICKS' shows the two brothers swapping verses over a synth-led and hi-hat-heavy beat, with lyrics addressing the pressing importance of being stylish at all times, including when up to your eyelids in mud ("until wellies get stylish these shite kickers will do for the mileage"), the funny, sharp song is well worth a listen.
The video has an appropriate amount of 90s nostalgia for a hip-hop song about sneakers, as the two are dressed in colourful shirts and shell suits.

The video itself is masterfully executed – zooming in and out of Nike swishes and Adidas stripes to reveal a world within. The video was filmed and edited by Dublin-based photographer Dave Doherty, who worked in collaboration with art director Ebun Oladeru to achieve the impressive visual effects.
