"We pretty much landed back in Dublin and everything had changed - it was like 28 Days Later or something; a whole new world," singer Craig Fitzgerald says of their Lockdown experience
The Academic have just revealed the promo accompanying the title-track of their new seven-track EP, Acting My Age, which has been receiving copious amounts of Irish radio airplay.
Recorded live two weeks ago, it's a reminder of just how great their gigs are. If you haven't already, make sure to get a read of singer Craig Fitzgerald's interview in the new Double Cover issue of Hot Press, which has either Fontaines D.C. or moodily gazing at you.
Craig starts of by recalling their March 15 flight back from Dubai where they'd been Paddy's Day gigging with Picture This to Lockdown Dublin.
"We pretty much landed back in Dublin and everything had changed - it was like 28 Days Later or something; a whole new world," he says before going on to talk about American road trips; hanging with the Rolling Stones and Future Islands; the support they've received from fellow Mullingar-ite Niall Horan; forgetting the words to songs on stage; and those Normal People sex scenes.
