Following the full house/tent at Electric Picnic, Hot Press is hitting the road on Tuesday September 11 for a Drug Policy Town Hall Meeting in Limerick’s Hunt Museum Café, which kicks-off at 6.30pm.
Being staged in association with the Ana Liffey Drug Project and the London School of Economics, we’re delighted to announce that the free, ticketed event (see below) will include a public interview with Mayor Daniel Butler, a drug education worker with Limerick City DEPS.
The night’s other special guests include Dyrt (AKA Dirty Harry), the Limerick rapper and spoken word artist who’ll be performing and talking about how drugs have impacted on his community and Conor Ward, a locally based singer-songwriter whose ‘Hope’ single carries a strong, positive mental health message.
The panel, which is being chaired by Hot Press’ Stuart Clark, a former Limerick resident, will include Ana Liffey Drug Project CEO, Tony Duffin; their Head of Policy, Marcus Keane; their Midwest Team Leader, Rachel Donoghue, who'll also be assessing what's happening locally; and John Collins from the LSE International Drug Policy Unit.
