Canadian Gay Marriage to be Challenged
Canada’s Liberal government faces rebellion from its MPs if it presses ahead with the proposal to make same-sex marriages legal. The government faces an upcoming vote of no confidence and Liberal MP Jim Karygiannis told reporters he is aware of MPs who are considering voting against the party. Karygiannis stated that MPs were prepared to topple the government in order to put a stop to the bill.

New Name, Same Pope
Anyone who foolishly thought that the passing of John Paul II would bring modernity to Catholic Church will be disappointed. The newly-elected pope, Benedict XVI last week condemned gay unions as anarchic “pseudo-matrimony” and reaffirmed the Catholic Church’s opposition to abortion. Hardly surprising considering that Benedict, the former Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, spearheaded a campaign by the Vatican against same-sex unions in 2003, issuing guidelines for Catholic politicians to oppose laws granting legal rights to gay couples.

Its All Fun and Games until Somebody Calls the Cops
Its all very well taking your sex games out into the open, but beware of nosey neighbours. German police freed a man from a car boot only to learn the would-be victim was actually a willing sex slave. A concerned onlooker had seen a woman lock somebody in her boot and rang the emergency response team.
