Breast air bags, sexsomnia and the benefits of porn!
Crash test mammaries
It’s not the reason most women have their breasts enlarged, but if you are considering getting yours done, here’s an unexpected benefit – fake breasts can act as airbags in an emergency! A Bulgarian woman in the town of Ruse survived a car crash because her silicon breasts acted as an airbag and protected her from the worst of the impact. Her implants did rupture though –ouch! – and somehow I doubt if that kind of body work is covered by the AA.
Fancy an orgazzzzzm?
Researchers in Toronto have identified a sleep disorder they have dubbed ‘sexsomnia’. Sexsomnia affects around 4% of adults and causes them to try to have sex while asleep. Researchers think the condition is not a psychological or sexual problem, but is caused by irregular brain activity. The good news is that you now have a great excuse to try persuade your sleeping partner to wake up and put out.
Porn may prevent rape
A professor at Stanford University has suggested that greater access to Internet pornography causes a drop in rape. According to the research a 10% increase in Net access produces a 7.3% decrease in reported rapes. The effect remains even after you control for variables such as alcohol, police, poverty, unemployment and population density. The effects are strongest among 15-year-old to 19-year-old perpetrators—the group that relies most heavily on the Internet for access to porn.
Toys
I do love innovation. The Cone is an incredibly clever hands-free sex toy with 16 different speed settings and an orgasm button and can be used a variety of different ways. Available from Cone Vibrator (www.conevibrator.co.uk) and Ann Summers (www.annsummersuncut.com) for about £50. I’ve got one on order so I’ll give you a full report in the next issue.
This issue's top sex tip: Some like it hot
With winter looming ever closer it’s important to keep your love-nest warm. Without central heating I would only ever have sex in my flannels in the winter, but thankfully, with the miracles of modern technology it’s unlikely to come to that.
According to the experts, heat helps us release stress and gets us more in the mood for sex – and, interestingly, more responsive to touch. So, try having sex on warm sheets straight from the dryer, or use a hot water bottle or electric blanket to heat the bed.
Have a warm bath or shower before sex. Then, warm massage oil up, using a candle, and give your partner an all-over rub. Better still is a full body-to-body massage. No man can resist it. Ask your partner to lie face down and massage the oil in using your body. Start at the top of his back and work your way down slowly. Sliding up and down his body should put indirect pressure on your clitoris, so it’s good (fun) for both of you. Once you’ve worked your way down and your breasts are below his ass, get him to turn over and work your way up again.
