Irish teens demand equality and information
Irish teenagers surveyed by the Department of Children believe that the age of sexual consent should be the same for boys and girls. The 210 teenagers who took part unanimously agreed that boys should not face criminal prosecution for having consensual sex with girls younger than 17. They suggested that a two-year age gap should be allowed. This would mean that an 18-year-old boy should have sex with a 16-year-old girl without breaking the law.
In addition, Irish teens requested better sex education in schools and more information on sexually transmitted diseases. They also highlighted the financial cost of safe sex.
South Africa to allow gay marriage
South Africa’s Constitutional Court has ordered parliament to amend laws to allow gay marriage. Although attitudes to homosexuality there are still quite conservative, South Africa’s constitution is regarded as ground-breaking, as it was the first to ban discrimination based on sexual preferences. The court has ordered that the definition of marriage be changed from a “union between a man and a woman” to a “union between two persons” and that gay marriage be allowed within the year.

This week's top sex tip
Want to know what pushes your partner’s buttons? Instead of asking them you could try “A/B game” as suggested by Alex Robboy of the How To Have Good Sex website.
Try different kinds of touch and ask your partner if they prefer touch A or B.
Here’s an example: If you want to find out what kind of clitoral stimulation your partner likes, choice A could be rapidly licking your partner’s clitoris, while choice B could be rubbing your partner’s clitoris with your finger. Whichever choice your partner prefers then becomes choice A. Then try a different type of stimulation, such as slowly rubbing your partner’s clitoris with your tongue, until you get another A response. This allows you to build up a picture of the kinds of stimulation that work best. The A/B game works because most people find it easier to say which type of touch they like better, instead of naming something in particular.
